සැබෑ ප්‍රේමයේ ස්වභාවය කුමක්ද? ඒවාගේම අප ප්‍රේමය දෙවියන් වෙතට යොමු කළ යුතු වන්නේ ඇයි දැයි භගවාන් සමිඳුන්, අද දින අපට ප්‍රේමාන්විතව පහදා දෙනු ලබයි.
දීප්තිමත්ව දිදුළන සූර්යයා, ස්වකීය ආලෝකයෙන්ම පමණක් දක්නට හැකි වන්නා සේම, ප්‍රේමයේ ප්‍රතිමූර්තිය වූ දෙවියන් දැක ගත හැක්කේද, ප්‍රේමයෙන්ම පමණි. දිව්‍යමය ප්‍රේමයට වඩා වටිනා වූ වෙනත් කිසිවක් මෙලොවෙහි නොමැත. දෙවියන් සියළුම ස්වභාවයන් අභිබවනය කර සිටී. ඒබැවින් ඔහුගේ ප්‍රේමයත්, ඒ සියළු ස්වභාවයන් (Gunatita ) ඉක්මවා පවත්නේය. නමුත් මිනිසාගේ ප්‍රේමය, මිනිස් ගුණාංග (Attributes ) මගින් මෙහෙයවීමේ ප්‍රතිපලය හේතුවෙන් එහි ඇලීම හා බෙදා වෙන් කිරීම පවත්නේය. ප්‍රේමය, පෙරලා කිසිවක් බලාපොරොත්තු වන්නේ හෝ ත්‍යාගයන් අපේක්ෂාව පාදක කරගත් වුවක් නොවේ. එවන් බලාපොරොත්තු පදනම් කර, හට ගැනෙන ප්‍රේමය වෙළඳ ගනුදෙනුවක් වේ. ප්‍රේමය වෙළඳ භාණ්ඩයක් නොවේ. එය ණයට දී, ආපසු ලබා ගැනීම වැනි, වුවක් නොවන්නේය. මෙය නිරායාසයෙන් සිදුවන පුදකිරීමකි. මෙවන් ආකාරයේ වූ පවිත්‍ර ප්‍රේමය පැන නැගෙනුයේ, පවිත්‍ර හදකින් පමණි. ප්‍රේමය නැවියෙකුගේ මාලිමාව මෙන් විය යුත්තේය. එය කිනම් ස්ථානයක තැබුවද, එහි ඊ තුඩෙන් පෙන්වන්නේ උතුරු දිශාවයි. එයාකාරයටම, සියළුම අවස්ථාවන්හි මිනිසාගේ ප්‍රේමය යොමුවී තිබිය යුත්තේ දෙවියන් වෙතටයි. එය හුදෙක්ම සැබෑ ප්‍රේමයයි. එය සතුටේදී මෙන්ම, දුකේදී ද, වෙනස් විය යුතු වුවක් නොවන්නේය. එහිදී මාගේ හා ඔබගේ අතර වෙනසක්‌ ඇති නොකරයි. කෙසේ වෙතත්, ප්‍රේමය ලැබෙනුයේ, ප්‍රේමයෙන්ම මිස වෙනත් ආකාරයකින් නොවේ.

What is the nature of true love and why should we direct our love towards God? Bhagawan most lovingly explains to us today.
God, who is the embodiment of love, can be attained only through love, just as the effulgent Sun can be seen only through its own light! There is nothing more precious in this world than Divine love. God is beyond all attributes. Hence His love also is beyond attributes – Gunatita. But, human love, because it is governed by gunas (attributes), results in attachment and aversion. Love should not be based on expectations of a reward or return. Love based on such expectations makes it a business deal. Love is not an article of commerce. It is not like a loan and getting it back. It is a spontaneous offering. Pure love of this kind can emanate only from a pure heart. Prema should be like a mariner’s compass. Wherever the compass may be placed, the needle will point only to the north. Likewise, man’s love, in all circumstances, should be directed towards God. That alone is true love. It should be unaffected by pleasure or pain. It makes no difference between ‘mine’ and ‘thine’. Love has to be acquired only through love and not by any other means whatsoever.

பிரகாசிக்கும் சூரியனை எவ்வாறு அதன் ஒளியைக் கொண்டு மட்டுமே பார்க்க முடியுமோ, அதே போல, ப்ரேமையின் திருவடிவமான இறைவனை ப்ரேமையால் மட்டுமே அடைய முடியும்! தெய்வ ப்ரேமையை விட இந்த உலகில் விலைமதிப்பற்றது வேறு எதுவும் இல்லை. இறைவன் அனைத்து குணங்களுக்கும் அப்பாற்பட்டவன். எனவே அவனுடைய ப்ரேமையும், குணாதீதமானது, அதாவது குணங்களுக்கு அப்பாற்பட்டது. ஆனால், மனித அன்பு, குணங்களால் ஆளப்படுவதால், விருப்பு வெறுப்புகள் ஏற்படுகின்றன. ப்ரேமை என்பது வெகுமதி, பிரதிபலன் ஆகியவற்றை எதிர்பார்த்து இருக்கக் கூடாது. அத்தகைய எதிர்பார்ப்புகளை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்ட ப்ரேமை ஒரு வியாபாரமாகி விடுகிறது. ப்ரேமை ஒரு வியாபாரப் பொருள் அல்ல. கடன் கொடுத்து திரும்பப் பெறுவதைப் போன்றதல்ல. இது தன்னிச்சையான வெளிப்பாடாகும். இப்படிப்பட்ட பரிசுத்தமான ப்ரேமை, தூய்மையான இதயத்திலிருந்து மட்டுமே வெளிப்படும். ப்ரேமை என்பது ஒரு மாலுமியின் திசைகாட்டி போல இருக்க வேண்டும். திசைகாட்டியை எங்கு வைத்தாலும் அதன் முள் வடதிசை நோக்கியே இருக்கும். அதுபோலவே, மனிதனின் அன்பு, எல்லாச் சூழ்நிலைகளிலும் இறைவனை நோக்கியே செலுத்தப்பட வேண்டும். அதுவே உண்மையான ப்ரேமை. அது இன்ப துன்பத்தால் பாதிக்கப்படாமல் இருக்க வேண்டும். இதற்கு ‘எனது’ ‘உனது’ என்ற வேறுபாடுகள் கிடையாது. ப்ரேமையை ப்ரேமையினால் மட்டுமே பெற வேண்டுமே அன்றி, வேறு எந்த வழியிலும் அல்ல.
