Ancient scripts declare that the universe is a visible manifestation of unseen energy. This unseen energy has no form or attributes like shape, color, and movement. However, different faiths named this Blissful Energy as Brahman, Nirvana, God the Almighty, and so on. The universe we live in is a visible manifestation that emerged from the formless. The process began with the primordial sound OM!. OM made empty space appear first. This vast emptiness was then filled with air. The air caught fire or Agni which cooled down to form water. There was a time when the world was covered with water, which cooled down to yield solid matter.
The universe so emerged from the formless energy evolved over millions of years to make it a suitable place for living beings. The universe so evolved is still in a process of evolution.
Man represents the apex or the end of biological evolution. Scientists have found that there are 8,400,000 animal species in the world but man is unique. Man is unique because he is the only living being who eats processed and cooked food. Only man lives in constructed buildings, move about using vehicles, and wears clothes. There is one more thing that makes the man unique. Only the man has a vertical spinal column.
The universe and its constituents exist in a cyclic manner. For all elements, living or inanimate, the cycle of birth, existence, and death is common. We inhale, retain for a very short time, and then exhale. We are born, live for some time, and die. The Universe is born, exists for 4.32 billion years, and dissolves then according to Vedic scriptures. This is an unimaginably long cyclic event. The universe spends this unimaginably long 4.32 billion years in cycles of Yugas or eras. They are Sath or Kretha Yuga, Thretha Yuga, Dwapara Yuga, and Kali Yuga. There are many Yuga cycles within the existence of the universe. In each Yuga, Divine Advents appear on earth to preserve dharma akin to the human society. These advents have Missions that men alone cannot accomplish. Among many Divine Advents, the supreme advents are called “Poorna Avatars”, who are endowed with extreme powers to influence or change the physical world and living beings.
The fourth Yuga is called the Kali Yuga or the Dark Age, during which the man is engrossed in the pursuit of sensual pleasures. Man becomes greedy, possessive, and selfish in the Kali Yuga. Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba has said that the present Kali Yuga began with the demise of Sri Krishna, about 5500 years ago, and will continue for a similar period of time. The Kali Yuga man is engrossed and immersed in selfishness, greed, and hatred. It is very difficult to separate good people from bad people in the Kali Yuga. In this Yuga, a single man has both good and bad qualities but the majority display evil qualities. The Kali Yuga man creates turbulence by engaging in battles, wars, and commotions (rajasic quality) his environment too responds by creating violent activities in the form of natural disasters.
The earliest Supreme Divine Advent in human form is Sri Rama who destroyed evil Ravana. The next Supreme Divine advent was Sri Krishna. The great epic, Maha Bharatha, where the two powerful clans: Pandavas and Kauravas fought with each other are centered on Sri Krishna. Both Sri Rama and Sri Krishna are ‘Poorna Avathars’.
Shirdi Sai Baba was another advent who lived in Shirdi of Maharashtra in India. Shirdi Baba achieved Maha Samadhi in 1918 and prophesized the coming of Sathya Sai Baba as a “Poorna Avathar”, eight years after His demise.
Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is a great Divine Advent with extreme powers. Prem Sai will be the third advent in a row who will be born in the Karnataka State of India, a few years after the demise of the great Sathya Sai. (Note: Some references say that Prem Sai will be born eight years after Sathya Sai Baba leaves His physical body). The known human history does not record three Divine Advents appearing in a row. Perhaps the darkness of the present Kali Yuga is so thick that three advents are needed to dispel the Kali Yuga darkness.
