The Sri Sathya Sai District, in association with SSSSO, Andhra Pradesh, has arranged a medical awareness camp for the benefit of the taxi & cab drivers along with their families at its headquarters, Puttaparthi. This social initiative of medical screening and awareness camp has been taken up in order to provide care to the taxi drivers and thereby better comfort and service to the devotees, pilgrims and passengers.
The Managing Trustee, SSSCT, Sri RJ Rathnakar, in his address to 200 plus attendees, urged them to consider their physical and mental health as the top priority. Referring them to ‘Krishnas’ (Saratis or charioteers) and the passengers as Arjunas, he requested them to follow the road safety guidelines, giving importance to the safety of passengers.
Speaking on good health practices and a Nutritious diet, Dr Narasimhan, Director, Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital, reminded them that make their living only by driving and their bodies are disturbed due to their livelihood.
Urging the drivers to play Swami’s bhajans in order to keep themselves awake during late-night drives, C. Rommel, Indian Foreign Service (Retd.) and senior Sevadal member, urged the families to follow up with the organisers periodically.
Swami’s Prasadam in the form of T-shirts bearing Bhagawan’s message was also distributed.
