Day 01
The Managing Trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Sri RJ Rathnakar, had embarked on a 4 day trip to Karnataka taking HIS Mission forward.
He was received at the Mangalore Airport by Sri Padmanabha Pai (State President of SSSO, Karnataka North), Sri Mukundan (President of South Zone, SSSO), Sri Venkat Gosavi (State President of SSSO, Karnataka South) and other revered elders and dignitaries.
Accorded by a traditional welcome at the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, Mangalore, which Bhagawan had visited twice, he went to Swami’s room first and offered his prayers. He then went on to inaugurate the Sri Sathya Sai Skill Development Centre there.
Sri Rathnakar unveiled the marble padukas at the sanctum sanctorum of the samithi that were specially designed & provided by the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust.
Addressing around 750 devotees who had gathered, he urged everyone to practise Swami’s teachings in their lives. Complimenting their commitment in selfless service activities and their dedication to the organisation, he also prayed for Swami’s Blessings on all these members.
2 long standing devotees Sri Shivaram Kaje and Sri Vaman Maroli were then honoured for their outstanding contributions and service for over 50 years.
Day 02
The Managing Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, inaugurated the ‘Sai Sridhar’ campus on that morning. In order to impart value based education in the remote villages and rural areas of Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, the Sri Sathya Sai Education Trust has started this campus that is nestled in the foothills of Sahyadri mountain range in the Konkan region.
2 new school blocks, ‘Sai Vittala’ and ‘Sai Kasthuri’ situated in the same surroundings were also inaugurated this morning by him along with Sri Nagesh Dhakappa (Advisor for SSSGC), Sri Mukundan (South Zonal President, SSSGC), Sri Padmanabha Pai (State President – North Karnataka, SSSO), Sri Venkat Gosavi (State President – South Karnataka, SSSO) amidst other revered office bearers and dignitaries.
Day 03
After inspecting the lakes rejuvenation project at Neelavani in Uttara Kannada Dist. the entourage moved to Dharwad where a new educational campus – ‘Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Mandir’ was inaugurated by Sri RJ Rathnakar along with Sri Krishnakanth, Superintendent of Police, Dharwad Dist. amidst the presence of revered office bearers and dignitaries of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Karnataka. Sri Krishnakanth also happens to be an alumnus of Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas programme.
The campus has classes from LKG to 10th standard along with Intermediate (Pre University) courses and Degree courses exclusively for women. Built by Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust with a budget of 15 crores, the institution pledges to offer quality education coupled with value based teachings.
Walking around the campus, interacting with the children who had displayed some exhibition items, the guests moved on to inaugurate a new sports complex – ‘Sri Sathya Sai Kreedangana’ for these students. A grand arch welcoming the entire campus was christened as ‘Sri Sathya Sai Mahadwaar’.
Later, a new skill development centre was inaugurated by him in yet another remote village. After distributing essential commodities to these people, the guests prayed for their well being and wished them good luck in being self sufficient by learning these new skills.
Even as the weather seemed to interrupt with rains, the Devotional singing and Vedic chants by the scores of devotees gathered there made it appear like HIS Divine Blessings.
